Fylde Festival Revival Day 2019

Alan Bell 1989
Programme
Alan Bell at Radio Lancashire

When the idea of reviving the Fylde folk festival for one day was first suggested to Alan Bell he didn't have to think very long before agreeing and the planning of the revival to coincide with his 85th Birthday celebrations began.

Sadly Alan passed away in April after a short illness but one of his last wishes was that the Fylde Revival Day went ahead as he'd planned. Thanks to Christine and Jamie the day was held on 22nd June 2019 and was a celebration of Alan's life and music with the guest list including artists that had all appeared at Fylde over the years, with the exception of Jim Moray, a wonderful last minute replacement for Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman who, due to illness, were unable to attend.

The day comprised of the Home Grown Uns’, the Entertainers and the Evening concerts, was a terrific reminder of how special the Festivals were to us all and a great tribute to the man himsel. Thanks Alan!

It was great to see so many old friends and familiar faces including my pal Pete Skinner and 'Stan' the late John Wright's little dog, a veteran himself.
